A MESSAGE                             ceo

Affordable Community Housing ( ACH ) provides rental accomodation to low income householders.

Currently we manage over 1,800 properties servicing 6,000 tenants across 16 Local Government Areas. ACH is the second largest community housing provider organisation in NSW.

In order to better service our tenants we have now opened four Local Tenant Zones located in Bankstown, Belmore, Blacktown and Parramatta; and we now have 42 support partners who provide specialist services to our tenants.

APPOINTMENT  OF NEW DIRECTORS

ACH is pleased to announce that recently five new directors joined our board:

Cliff Haynes as Chairperson, David Mead, Bruce McDonald, Beata Kade and Paul Howlet.

They bring with them a wealth of experience in Executive Management at State, Local Government and the private sector.

 GOVERNMENT STIMULUS PACKAGE

It is a very exciting time for Community Housing as the both Federal and State Government are gearing up for a huge investment into the sector

We are experiencing the largest social housing expenditure ( over 3 years ) in the history of Australia. In NSW there will be over $2 billion and up to 9,000 new homes. A significant portion of these new dwellings are expected to come to the Community Housing sector with title.

We have recently been allocated over $37 million dollars under the Federal Government Social Housing Growth Fund which will enable ACH to purchase 135 new dwellings, 50% of these dwellings are ready for occupancy now and the remainder will be ready from late this year through to 2010.

 FOCUS OF ACH

At ACH, housing stress and its alleviation remains the key focus of our core business, while offering creative solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders.

We are pleased to announce that Affordable Community Housing has been allocated $1.5 million in funding under the Debt Equity Scheme which has assisted us to purchase 20 dwellings for Affordable Housing Tenants. Please click here for more information.
