Affordable Community Housing Limited (ACHL) is a not-for-profit organisation that provide housing for more than 6,000 people in over 2,100 properties in 16 local Government Areas across Sydney. ACHL is managed by highly qualified staff supported by a skills based Board. Our directors have expertise in social housing, asset management, legal practice, accounting, finance and organisational management. Click the orange link for profiles of ACHL directors.
ACHL was created in 2008 through the merger of Western Suburbs Community Housing (WSCH) at Wentworthville then managing 382 properties, and Cumberland Housing Co-operative Limited (CHCL) at Bankstown, then managing 410 properties. WSCH had been formed in 1991 by the merger of Blacktown City Housing (started in 1982) and Blacktown Homeless Services. CHCL was formed in the early 1990s by the merger of Bankstown Community Housing (formed in 1985) and Canterbury Housing Services.
