As part of our three-year strategy, we have published a Resident Engagement Strategy which provides residents with the opportunity to become involved and influence the services we deliver.
Evolve Housing strives to deliver high quality homes and improve the wellbeing of our residents. We will continue to develop and improve our methods for engagement with our residents, through consultation and feedback. From research and feedback we know that our residents value different types and levels of engagement, which are dependent on their personal circumstances, commitments and interests. Our aim is to meet the expectations of our residents and encourage greater participation through our engagement approach.
This strategy highlights our key priorities and actions for 2013-2015.

On 19th November 2013, Evolve Housing held an Annual General Meeting in the Western Sydney suburb of Parramatta. At the meeting, a presentation on the future direction of Western Sydney was given by David Borger, Western Sydney Director of the Sydney Business Chamber and former Minister for Western Sydney and Minister for Housing. David’s presentation touches on future job opportunities in Western Sydney, including the potential for a local airport that could produce 80,000 jobs, including 20,000 jobs in the next 20 years within the Western Sydney suburb of Liverpool.
Thank you to our Evolve Housing residents, partners, staff, members and special guests for attending our Annual General Meeting. We announced a growth in our revenue and substantial increases in our surpluses and assets, and thank all who participated in this occasion.

Our Evolve Housing office will be closed from Wednesday 25th December 2013 until Wednesday 1st January 2014. Our office will reopen on Thursday 2nd January 2014. We hope all of our Evolve Housing residents and our partners have a safe holiday season and a happy new year!
To help our residents keep up to date with information about their tenancy and our upcoming Evolve Housing events, we are now sending SMS messages (text messages) directly to mobile phones. Evolve Housing residents who have provided us with their mobile phone number will have already received two (2) SMS broadcasts. SMS messaging is another great way of communicating to our residents because it is quick and easy. We started sending SMS messages in September and residents have found it a fast and useful way to hear from us.
The SMS messages our residents would have received recently include our Annual General Meeting on 19 November 2013 and our Toshiba Tablet Competition. In the future we will also send SMS messages with information about rental arrears, leasing and maintenance or repair schedules.
How to stop receiving SMS messages from Evolve Housing
If residents do not wish to receive SMS alerts, they can at any time choose to ‘unsubscribe’ or ‘opt-out’ via the SMS ‘opt out’ function which will be provided in the SMS message. ‘Opt out’ means you will be removed from our SMS lists and we will stop sending SMS messages to your mobile phone. You can also stop SMS messages by simply ringing us on (02) 8862 1500 or emailing us at email@example.com, you will need to provide us with your full name and mobile number and we will remove your mobile number immediately from our list.
SMS texts sent from Evolve Housing are at no cost to the residents
It is important to note receiving SMS messages from Evolve Housing does not cost the resident any money. If you reply to our SMS message to ‘opt out’ then you will be charged the normal fee from your mobile carrier for text messaging. No other fees apply all text messages sent from Evolve Housing are charged to Evolve Housing NOT the resident or recipient.
Protecting your privacy
Evolve Housing will not share or disclose you mobile number to any other organisation and it will only ever be used by Evolve Housing unless you request to ‘opt out’ of receiving SMS messages.
How else does Evolve Housing communicate with residents
Of course Evolve Housing residents will still get information from us through the other existing forms of communication we use such as the post, email (if you have provided an email address), social networking sites (Facebook and Twitter) and Evolve Housing’s website.
