If you have recently moved in to a newly built property, here are some helpful hints in relation about building defects. During the first six months, Affordable Community Housing encourages tenants to create a list of non-urgent issues that may be found in the property rather than contact the office each time another repair is found. Some examples are:
ACHL will write to you one month prior to the end of the six-month period to arrange to inspect the properties, at which time you can any non-urgent repairs and provide us with your list.
Urgent Repairs should be reported to our maintenance team on 8622 1555 such as:
Now, when you report a maintenance repair, you will be issued with an order number & completion date. Please ensure you write this down as this will be your reference to follow up outstanding repairs
Before you can carry out any alterations/additions to the property you must first put your request in writing asking for ACHL's permission including all relevant information (as outlined in the Residential Tenancy Agreement). For , if you wish to instanll an air conditioner at your cost, you would need to write to ACHL stating the following;
ACHL will respond to all tenants requests within 28 days and let you know whether the request is approved or declined, or whether we require more information to make a decision.
You must then sign and date the ACHL letter and return it to our office to be added to your file for our records.
